Agreed. The only thing that gives mine away is its better paint finish (no orange peel)

good point, i suppose my spoiler does have a better paint finish than the car!

On that point, why do BMW's all have orange peel paint now?!

I am tempted just worried about fitting tbh - have you got an ebay link for where you got yours?

Also on a separate topic did you get your black grills from ebay also and are they matt or gloss?

Thanks

Spoiler from here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PAINTED-BM...item54065b4453 tbh it is a bit of a pain to fit right, buy an extra role of 3m tape from ebay and some tar & glue remover so if you get it wrong you can just try again.

Grills here, i got gloss to match window and wing mirror surrounds http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PAINTED-BM...item54065b4453

Oh and do use the supplied adhesive primer on the boot lid and spoiler before applying the sticky tape so it stays stuck!

The move to water based paints as mandated by most countries, the lower solvent level means it can't evaporate quick enough for the correct coverage. This effects the lacquer more than the paint.

They effectively put it on too thick. They could remove this effect by a slower application and more manual checks, but as 99% of customers don't even notice it's not worth the effort.

To prepare each car to remove orange peel would take days, and again it's not worth it.

Wet sanding afterwards is the only thing that is worth it, but most people don't want to risk it or pay for 80-100 hours of wet sanding from a pro

Wish they offered the boot spoiler as an option on the F30 as they do on the F10 for £190.

Buy it from the same seller for £52 painted if you buy from eBay.com and pay $89/£52

Easy saving and just pay via paypal....roughly 7 days...!

That's what i did, but got charged the difference by royal mail for import duty! I guess the ebay.co.uk price includes the duty?

Just bought one from the link provide above. Think the boot lid spoiler will finish the car off nicely.

Just looked at that, and they don't seem to mention Glacier Silver in the colour chart. I wonder why that is!

They don't mention most of the F30 colours, Melbourne Red, Black Sapphire, Mineral Grey all not mentioned!

Just tell them your paint code and they'll do it!
