Hidden power outlet (Under Glove Box)

I have just routed a cable from the hidden power outlet to my sat nav, and put the wire along the edge of the window screen. It's really hidden it well.

Question is, is that port a permanent live, or an ignition live? - I don't want a flat battery.

My understanding is that it will cut out when you lock the car (or soon after) and that continuous power is available only via a direct battery connection as opposed to, say, a fuse tap.

Cuts out after 10 mins with ignition off

Even sitting in the car with key fob in your pocket

You don't need to lock the car

Sometimes I'm waiting for people with ignition off, and have phone plugged in

It's just based on ignition , nothing more

Agreed. Radio cuts out and everything goes to sleep. It's very annoying if you're waiting in the car!

Please post a pic. Would love to see how you did it...may need to copy your idea.

It's just from the outlet, and then into the glovebox, through the glove box and into the black rubber around the door, then all the way along the window. Into the sat nav.

I will post pics later.
