I Recently had my car at the dealers and they said they did an IDrive update. Looking on bmw.com/update it says I should install UPD05021. My current version numbers on the car are as follows:

Media: MN-002.033.002
Phone: TN-002.033.002

I've looked through the notes of the UPD05021 update and it says the version numbers are TN-2.34.1, which looks like a newer version to mine. But then the MN version numbers are very different.

Has anyone updated their IDrive software to UPD05021 yet? If so, can you check what version number is actually installed on the car?

Checked it for my car last night on the BMW site and it said that I had the latest version. Will check the car tomorrow and see what version is installed.
How different is the version number for the Media? It could be that there have been more iterations for the Phone software, that could explain the difference.

MN-2.18.2, TN-2.18.5
MN-1.37.3, TN-1.37.10
MN-1.23.7, TN-1.23.15
MN-1.21.6, TN-1.21.15

You might also find that the UK website isn't up to date for you car, it is behind the times on mine.

Wow - i've been checking the link for ages in the hope of an update and the last one it's showing is 5011. I check this link with my VIN and it shows TWO updates since then! Hmmm, crazy how for the same VIN the results can be so different.

Don't suppose this last couple of updates FINALLY solve the issue whereby the nav thinks my correctly formatted UK addresses in my phonebook are actually in the Netherlands?

So it looks like the same version as yours.

Just did the update and it is the new phone version. The version numbers are now as follows:

Media: MN-002.033.002
Phone: TN-002.034.001

It keeps Media at the same version and only upgrades phone.

What does this do exactly? I'm a bit confused??? won't BMW do it for you?

It updates the firmware of the iDrive to include the latest tweeks BMW have made. Depending on what version you have there will be quite a few changes. Here's what is included in the 5021 update:

customer SIM function.

The software update improves the compatibility
of the following devices:
Phone
▷ Apple: Devices running iOS from Version
7.0
▷ Samsung: Devices running Android from
Version 4.x

▷ LG: Devices running Android from Version
4.x

Just whack it on a USB stick. Plug it in the armrest, navigate the iDrive to settings>>>software update and follow the remaining prompts.

Instructions are in that PDF. Takes 30 seconds.

Did it this morning, put both the last two files on my USB stick and I think it's naturally just installed the latest - my Feb 13 build now has TN-001.023.015 & MN-001.023.007. Quick and easy update procedure using a USB stick in the centre console storage.

Address book still thinks my properly formatted UK addresses from my iPhone contacts list are in the Netherlends though so i can't navigate from my contact list - anyone know the best place to complain directly to BMW about this as this is completely unacceptable when i've spent to much on this system.

just checked on the idrive (Business Media June 2013) my current status which seems different to all yours?
it shows Multi Media MX-003.005.004 Tel TX-003.005.006 any ideas if this is uptodate.

Also do I have EBT or how can I find out.

Hmmm that looks like many revisions ahead of my pro nav version. I'm guessing the update webapp is quite behind what is being rolled off the production line.

Sounds like it. Guess we will get it the update in a few months or so once the newer cars have tested the software for us
