M235 wheel colors
Do all m235's come with the silver color wheels. Just purchased mineral Gray will be in next month. I saw a Mineral Gray with a smoke color wheel but didn't see this on vehicle report. My last BMW was a 325i a long time ago. Also, new to the board. Thanks

Love it or hate it, this is your only choice from the factory for the 235. |

Has any owners done these in black yet? My car is due for delivery soon, and I'm debating having them painted high gloss black. Would love to see it on an M235i if someone has already.

I haven't seen anyone mod their wheels yet - I actually like the stock design, just think they could look nice in bright silver or in a 19'...

Nice idea. I am with others in at first not liking idea of silver/grey wheels--too close to "BrakeDust Grey". I rather like having silver wheels that say, when clean, "I'm really clean". Having said that:
1. Was going to get them powder coated silver--better than painting due to chip resistant--especially if you go black. 2. THEN the light went on: I intend to probably trade for an M2 when it comes out--probably I say--so don't want the M235 wheels to be as the 228 color and have to back pedal on explaining things. 3. The new silver wheel color, is beginning to look rather nice. Just shows me once again, not to be too hasty in anything--unless its getting butter into a baked potato. BTW-- the little AW M235 is on the boat as I write. Its fun watching it travel across. |

Before you get them painted gloss black, try Plasti-Dip. It's a spray on paint that is completely removable and durable too. When it wears you can simply peel off and do another coat. Much much cheaper than getting is painted as well. Look it up!

Yeah check the 1-series forum, either wheels / tires or cosmetic mods I forget. Those guys love the plasti dip and have posted tons of photos, someone did his wheels without even removing them and it looked pretty damn good. Added some sort of gloss agent not sure exactly what.

I was thinking of plasti-dipping my wheels matte black (along with the grill and mirror). Do you think that would look good or should I go glossy?
What do you think of a red grill/mirror caps on a MG/CR combo? JB

Red grille / mirror caps would look great if you do the wheels and rear diffuser as well, and dye your hair to match. |

Check out my garage on the 1addicts page. I Plasti dipped my stock 264's on my 135i in Antracite grey with a Glossifier final coat. It came out really nice in my opinion. you can spray the Glossifier over the regular black as well to achieve the same look. Go to Dipyourcar.com to purchase the stuff

I've seen all the videos on the Dipyourcar.com website and YouTube and they all state that the Glossifier doesn't make the removal any more difficult than normal. I haven't tried removing mine yet. It's still holding up to the elements! I love the stuff! And they didn't pay me to say that!
