Afternoon,

I've not ordered EBT as I thought it was coming in the MY14 - oops!! Cars due to land before long so I'm looking to coding to sort the problem.

Called a couple of BMW Specialists, one had never heard of coding, and the other suggested I get the Main Dealer to do it??!! Is that right??

So,

A: Is it a daft thing to do that could cause more problems than it solves

B: If not, help me! How can I do it?

I doubt dealers will do it. I did mine recently along with many others on here. No issues so far...

I'm in your area, and am potentially interested in this too - coding EBT to my pro nav. I wonder if we can find someone who's willing to help out here.

I must admit the thread "Lit up like a Christmas tree" puts me off a little though: if that happened after coding, i'd be exceptionally nervous!

EBT does come with music transfer over Bluetooth as well as album art too

Why don't you type in the last seven digits of your VIN into one of those VIN decoding websites and see if it comes out with your car as having EBT?

I may very well take you up on that in a few months. Quite happy to have a go at this, but I would feel more confident if there's someone around that's done it before successfully!

A group of Subaru owners used to meet up for a social at the Buckles Inn on the A64... Perhaps we could resurrect that and have a coding evening?

That was my thread and it had nothing to do with coding as I haven't coded anything....yet! I wouldn't be worried about coding yourself especially if you are used to GUI interfaces for applets/webapps etc. There are extensive guides on Bimmerpost on how to do it, not to mention loads of help from forum members who may also be willing to code it for you.

I realise it had nothing to do with coding , but if I had messed with my car I'd be more than a little worried if something like that appeared... It happened to an unmolested car - yours - so it could happen to anyone's...

Ah I see now Yeah I agree... so many people get away with it and have warranty work carried out, even though its directly related to mods they have done. But that small per cent chance makes you wonder....
