what to do with new rims?
Hi Guys,
I was wandering if someone could help. I've got a 330d M sport on the way approved from BMW but I am extremely tempted to upgrade to the 428m for 405m's. Is it best to try and get that done at the dealer and would they give me anything back for the old rims? Or should i get the car, buy the rims myself and then try and self the old ones? i'm not sure what is the best way to do this? |

So have you bought the 405M wheels already? If so how much would you want for them? Rims only as I'd put a set of pilot super sports on them instead of run-flats.

no no. I have not bought any yet. The car i have purchased (or just about to) has the 403M wheels. I want to upgrade to either the 405M or the 624M. but don't know whether to get the dealer to do that or buy the rims privately. not sure what will be most cost effective?

I'd be getting the dealer to do you a deal. I should have with mine. Cheapest I've seen the 405s for sale is £2300 with tires but I'm not sure if that deal is still available. I would say any price under 2k with tires is good.

I actually think the 405m look nicer, but it's down to opinion (and I've got 405's so a little biased)... if you want new and rare go for the 624, but then I've only seen 1 more BMW with 405's on too so they are not exactly common.
You would be lucky to get any type of 18-20" alloy with tyre from BMW for less than £2k. 403's cost more than that. The dealer will prob offer you £700-£1k for your 403's. That's if they even want them. Good luck and enjoy the car when it comes! Mat
