New BMW owner out of necessity.
I was recently laid off from my job and had to turn in my company car. My dad works at an auto auction so I ended up picking up a 2006 BMW 325i with 86,000 miles on it for $9,100.00 for transportation. It had a clean car fax with two previous owners. No accidents and looked to be well maintained. It is equipped with the sport package and magna flow aftermarket exhaust. Not sure about any other aftermarket modifications.
I love driving this car and can only imagine what it's like driving a 330i with the extra hp. I have driven a company car for the last 8 years and almost forgot how much fun driving can be. My last company cars were a Chevy Equinox and Chevy Impala. LOL So far I have added (2) Alpine Amps (4) Alpine Speakers and an Alpine Subwoofer. It's amazing how much better this setup sounds than the original BMW Professional stereo. Snapped a couple quick iPhone pics. |

You can change the 325 into a 330

http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=378 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37444 with the addition of a three stage intake and a AA tune. The engines are basicly the same except for the intake and exhaust both are 3 liter motors. |

Thanks guys. I would like to do some performance mods to it once I find a job but I've read that the cost/performance ratio isn't that great with the 325i engine. Everyone says to save your money and buy a 335i. LOL Trying to read and research as much as I can but first things first- Gotta find a job.
It is a real pleasure to drive. Like I said, I almost forgot how much fun it was to drive a car. Now I know what they mean by the Ultimate Driving Machine. ;-) |

Well, I mean the car was the right price, and it was clean. It doesn't mean that we magically have great social mobility or that wages aren't stagnate.

Funny, from the title it's as if we are supposed to feel sorry for you!

We also wanted to get something that I would want to drive at my next job if I didn't get a company car. Now my goal is to obviously find a job (LOL), keep this car for the next 3-4 years and upgrade to a slightly used 335i or M3 depending on my job and income. Gotta have dreams and goals. |

OP, for the money you paid, I think you got a great deal. Regardless of the job situation (I really hope you find one soon) keep the 325i forever. I'm at 242,000 miles; I can attest that your car will run a long, long time. Just keep it as a back up once your finances improve.
