juddering

hi there ive got a 2006 e90 manual gearbox 2.0 diesel, its done around 95,000 miles and sometimes when trying to pull away it starts juddering, its so intermittent that when I take into a garage they don't see the problem.......my brother kept saying it was me till it happened to him one morning. it can come and go as quick as turning a corner.......it usualy happens when im sitting in traffic and about to pull off , the car just judders as if im not applying enough revs......

any one had this happen?

Yep, very common issue, Stringy has just had his 318D back from having a new clutch/flywheel/release bearing under warranrty & my 320D is booked in for next wednesday for it have the same issue looked at, theres an upgraded clutch/DMF kit available now which cures the issue.

Not what you'll be wanting to hear really with an 06 car & 95k as it'll not be under warranty unless you've took out additional cover or just bought it from a dealer! But at that miles they might put it down to wear & tear anyway

Yeah I had the same issues mate, when it was cold or when I'd been driving in traffic for a while. Other times it would be ok, BMW found the flywheel bearing had gone and cover my clutch in grease.

Removing the clutch delay valve will take away a lot of clutch judder as it makes the operation more smooth.
