Is there any way of uprating the BMW Professional HU to accept USB?

Revision 3 has USB capabilities. I looked at the two (mine and the R3) side by side today and at quick glance I thought what exactly is the difference between the two? Have the components in the Revision 3 been uprated? Or can the Pro HU be coded itself to accept USB? If it is a nay then is there anywhere online that I can swap for a Revision 3? It would make my life a lot easier if I could swap or code. Cheers.
