Keep or Sell e92 M3 and buy new one?

I love the feeling of driving my e92 but I'm also considering buying either the 2015 F80 m3 or F82 m4 (haven't decided yet). I'm also contemplating if I should just sell the e92 M3 and purchase the F80 M3/F82 M4 or keep both. Any suggestions would help. Thanks!

I would wait to test drive unless you just want a new car.

In same situation...so I am waiting to HEAR and DRIVE the car. Since mine is paid off and I love my Akrapovic sound...no pressure sell if I am at ANY point not 100% "all in" on the M4. IF I am getting 25-30mpg in the new M4...I am dropping my 2013 off at the BMW dealership post haste!

Back drop: I paid $67k for my loaded vert through Mil sales so I am ONLY going straight up swap for ANY vehicle I get...NO MORE MONEY FROM ME!

You're not going to be able to "straight up swap" your E9X for the F8X, and you're going to get even LESS money for your E9X once the F8X arrives than you would if you sold it today. That's a pipe dream my friend.

I've done too much work to my e92 to even consider selling it unless the right buyer comes along.

Yes, I noticed that E93 looses value much faster than E92 or E90 ///Ms. I would guess that dealer will give him $55K at most for that vert...even less if he waits until new ///M drops.

Sell both and all other worldly possessions. Move to mountaintop. Subsist on lichens and mosses. Become one with universal katra. Become sought after guru figure. Foolproof plan, man.

The car is paid off and if low miles then keep it but know that once the New M hits the streets the value of the old M will take some major hits.

SC...you may be right...but remember...I don't NEED to sell so I am in a perfect spot. Marketing is a motherf*&^%r so no matter how BMW props up the 4 series (and M)...is still a preference and I am not one to chase the newest thing. I hope it does look and sound nice bc if it substantially gets more mpg than my current M3...I will have it just for that alone (based on my job location alone). Mil sales lessens the blow to me personally regardless....so if I take a 12k hit (which I doubt) for driving a 2013 vert ...I consider it a year lease....hell..1.5 at best...bc I would be paying $63k for teh coupe from Mil sales...loaded btw. I am playing with a few aces.

Not quite loaded. That's only $5k of options which = Exec pack + DCT and you're already there.

sell it now before the m4 release.....because the e92 price will go down lower and lower
I suggest you to play with the new Toy first(m4) then you can buy e92 later whenever u like but i'm sure you won't go back to the e92.

it is impossible to answer this question, no?

how much money do you have? can you easily afford to own both?

I really like my e92 m3, and would love to keep it, but financially, it makes no sense to me and I cant afford it

depends on your current stable, how you use your cars, and what your finances look like. no way to answer this question well with the current info IMO

I've been wondering the exact same thing - would
Like to keep both - but the extra chuck if money I could get by trading it in is enticing (2 college tuitions coming up - we'll
See)!!!

And actually - my current M3 is also paid off - what scares me is the potential repair costs if some major components need repair or replacement after extended warranty expires...

But I'm also concerned that if I trade it in that I'll regret it someday - it's not only special as last NA M3, but also my first M car ever - so as long as things are good financially, I'm leaning in favor of keeping it alongside the new F80 (long term plan keep E93 and the F80 would be periodically replaced by a newer model)

It'll only be a classic if you own one 300 years from now. Where are you getting your information from?

It's already a classic but not a collectible. As for the FI fans that hate anything positive said about the E9X M3 so is the E9X 335i with the N54 engine. These are cars that will be remembered and revered by enthusiasts for years to come. Classics they are but likely never to be collectibles even if a zero mile E92 M3 can have some chance if this is the last NA V8 ever to be built by BMW.

That's it - just drove mine - and although I'm sure F8x will be significant performance increase - don't think I can get rid of my current one!
