Can Someone identify the part that has fallen off my car please? (325i e92)

hi

I noticed the part in the pictures underneath my car a few days ago, prior to this last week i had BMW change my waterpump and thermostat. I'm really paranoid that they have done something wrong? Also my car went into limp mode yesterday when i started it up (engine was completely cold). After restarting the engine everything was fine and it hasn't happened again. Anyone know if the 2 problems could be related?

I should also add the part feels strong and is made from plastic and can be pushed in so kinda acts like a spring and there are no number on it.

Thanks for your help

I'm not certain, but that looks like the radiator drain plug. Is there a pond of coolant where you found this?

As long as you are 100% positive that it came from the car and not some other thing floating around in your garage, I'd go back to them and say "Hello, this fell off my car 48 hours after you worked on it and I experienced limp mode. Please fix this mistake" be direct and be polite.

thats the thing i'm 95% sure this came off my car, i have an underground car park and this was directly below my car , there is the odd chance that its someones rubbish, which would make me look quite stupid..i'm going to book it in tomorrow, thought it would be good to get a heads up if someone knew then part....

Yeah, looks like you're right- not the drain plug. http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/Site..._Plug/ES37547/

It does however look remarkably similar to this part which is called a Radiator Coolant Flow Adjustment Screw?

Check under the lip of your trunk lid. It might be one of 2 bump stops that fell off like what happened to me.
