USB Glove Box

I have a 2011 E90 LCI with CIC. It has a USB socket in the Glovebox. It does not have anything under the armrest.

Can I plug in a 32Gb USB stick full of MP3 files and play directly from the stick?

I also have a 128Gb SSD hard disk in a USB caddy. Do you know if this would also work off the glovebox USB socket?

Again: the glovebox USB is to upload/download data and music to your HDD. It does not play any music.
