Noise From Brake Sensor
I have used the search button but I couldn't not find anything on this. Has anyone notice any sharp squeaking noise when they accelerate? The noise kinda sounds like a squeaking noise when you brake but its the opposite, it squeaks when you accelerate. I always thought this sound was coming from someone else's car but it was mine!! The sound got louder and louder as the days went and it really made my car sound like a piece of #$@%. It was embarrasing too. So I took it in and they told me it was coming from the brake sensor (the one that senses if you need to change the brakes) touching the disc. They said there is nothing they can really do about it except to grind in the sensor and they couldn't guarantee the noise will stop. I asked my friends who drives beamers and they had the same problem. One friend had a 5 series and the other had the prior 3 series model, both had squeaking noises when they accelerated. I was wondering if anyone else is hearing this noise.

Doesn't the idea of making nature against the law seem to you a bit . . . unnatural? Support NORML |

actually....they were trying to play dumb...saying they did not know what was causing the noise problem. So, my comeback was....well, if you don't know what it is...and you are not able to fix it. Then it does not seem very safe for me to be driving around with an unknown, unfixable brake problem. They replaced the brake sensor and the pads....problem solved. At least for now.

i just took my car in for something else and told them about this. When i use my e-brake when parking on an incline and go do drive away after releasing the e-brake it will squeak as if it is still applied. i have to raise and lower the e-brake several times to get the squeaking to go away. i dont know if this relates to your problem?? hopefully they can adjust it and fix it.
