Need advice on Vishnu Exhaust

So, what's the general concensus on the Vishnu exhaust? Those of you who have had it installed, do you like it? Does it drone? Would you categorize it as agressive or more subtle? Any other thoughts?

I like it... some people think it's a bit on the ricey side; but if you throw a magnaflow x-pipe in there it would sound a lot better imho.

I have and like mine. To each his own. It rumbles low at low RPM. Maybe a little high pitch at wider rpms, but tasteful. It compliments my Procede!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I mounted 2 stainless supports between the pipes to reduce vibrations, and changed the rear mufflers to larger ones with an extra chamber to reduce sound

I have driven a customers coupe with this exhaust and I loved it. Not too loud, is fierce when you want it to be. I like a quieter exhaust so it may be too quiet for some.

Does it delete any cats or resonators? I am seriously confused deciding between this, the Borla catback, or Meisterschaft (all three sections).

In any case, I want to run DPs with exhaust eventually but I definitely need cats, preferably downstream from the DPs tho.

Vishnu deletes the rear cats (leaves the main cats since they are on the downpipe). Vishnu does not have an xpipe (balancing chamber), it is fully divorced. I have not heard it in person. I have the Britalman which also deletes the rear cats, but has a balancing chamber.

If you want a stock like mod, then go with a catback and high flow cat downpipes. The high flow cat downpipes allow you to just pull out the 02 sensors from the stock part and put them in the modified one.

You really have to read about all the exhausts. Some are true bolt on, others need to cut the exisiting system. I know Britalman and Ultimate Racing are true bolt on. AA's needs to cut the existing exhaust. Vishnu does not mention, in their thread launching their exhaust, whether it is 100% bolt on, also does not say anything on their site. I would ask them to be sure.

Thanks for the tip Scott -- by catback do you mean from the primary cats and back, or the secondary cats and back?

I'm not necessarily looking for a stock like exhaust... I'm really only trying to avoid an exhaust that drones and is obnoxiously loud and ricey. I know things will get loud with a catless DP and resonator delete (which I really want to do) so I want to gauge what is practical and feasible with this type of setup. I guess that's why I'm gravitating towards the systems that are reportedly quiet.

btw, what type of difference does an xpipe vs. fully divorced piping make?

When I say catback, I mean it replaces everything behind the downpipe(bolts on to the end of the downpipe), leaving the stock downpipe and main cats (that are on the downpipes) in place.

The reason we went with a fully divorced system is that they sound better, imho. And they should also make a bit more power due to less backpressure/turbulence. H or X pipes make sense in naturally aspirated V8s since they are used to smoothen out the exhaust pulses and make things quieter. In the case of a turbocharged engine, the turbine wheels themselves do all the pulse chopping. The goal of the exhaust, from that point on, is to make keep backpressure to an absolute minimum.

Cheers,
shiv

His comments started a whole debate about xpipes vs fully divorced systems.
