Chicago - Winter Car Wash

Hey Guys,
I should be picking up my new F30 sometime this week, but I'm dreading keeping it clean with all the salt/snow on the road. I live in a condo building with, so I bought some rinseless wash (ONR) but it probably won't work with the amount of salt that cakes on our cars. Any recommendations on a touchless wash in the city or near the city? Any other ideas? I would like to avoid hand washes.

Thanks,
Vik

Vik,

I want to say your better off waxing the hell out of your car, and just hand washing it a couple times until you make it to spring.

The problem with touch less car washes is the chemicals they use are horrible for the paint/clear coat. Although your car looks clean, i think your worse off have all that acid shit eat away at your plastic and paint.

just a thought...

I used ONR on my E90 when I lived in Chicago. It worked fine even when the car was caked in snow.

The key things for me were to be REALLY generous with the ONR and to keep enough ONR in the bucket so I didn't pick up grit from the bottom of the bucket

My car looked great after 2 winters of this, with no visible scratching on the clear coat from the ONR.

I also tried this self wash a few times but I found the ONR more convenient (And less sketchy....)

Thanks guys! I used a touchless in Forest Park (near Madison and Des Plaines) that wasn't too bad.

Ordered ONR, so I hope to be setup with that shortly.

Just picked the car up today btw. This pic was taken before I took it into the snowy mess:

Get a car wash at least once a week during winter and you should be fine! Don't let salt settle for more thank 2 weeks. Been living here my whole life and that's one of the keys to not having rust on your car!
