OT: PGR4 is fookin awesome, i want an xbox3600

Project Gotham Racing4: Just been on it, what a great game, loved it so realistc, not like id thought it would be...

drove a sierra RS500. Sounded lovely just like the real thing!!
drove an M5 very very fast but a bit lairy and heavy

R8 WAS SUBLIME, drove like the real thing (miswah dad said so) he also promised me a drive in a real R8 soon

drove some AMG, way too powerful and tail happy, won a few races..

ive decided xbox 360 is for me, even if i only get this one game....

Loved it

bit unfair choosing it without even trying a ps3, but this game is just TOOOOO GOOOOD

no options required for a PS3 (an extra controller or steering wheel if req'd) - HDD is built in (swappable for bigger if required) - as is wi-fi - memory card slots - media centre compatabilty

Had one for a year now (1st one was HK import, then flogged it and got a UK one)

I think thay have just released a cheaper 60GB one - still has wi-fi but no memory card slot. £299 to compete with xbox xmas sales!

forgot that! but to be honest I have never played ps2 games on my ps3

neither did i go back and play ps1 games on my ps2 even though I could!

Once you play 'next gen' games the old ones look pretty crappy!!

I bought a 40GB PS3 - with any chart game, extra controller and a blu ray dvd for £335. You can get console and game for £299 I believe.

Got Xbox 360 to replace Playstation 2 Just over a Year ago and Played PGR 3 (Not played 4 Yet) and Forza 2 with and without Wireless Steering Wheel but even with the Playstation being last generation I find the Gran Turismo 4 still better than Xbox360 Games so I think the PS 3 with GT 5 is going to be awesome

A decider - I'm not bias as I'll have both when GT5 releases anyway.

Get the 360 if

you play online
you want a lot of games to play
you want a noisy unreliable console
you want hi-def video

Get the PS3 if

you want a quiet reliable console
you are only after a few games
you don't play online
you want blu-ray

dont forget the ps3 also gives you:

* not just blu-ray movies, but the latest firmware (which incidentally are free updates online and VERY easy to do) also upscales normal dvd's to hi-def and also does an excellent job of it

* Provides media centre type functionality - mine even wireleslly connects to my laptop and plays all my i-tunes folder through my KEF speakers and amp that is optically connected to the PS3. Output to the TV is via HDMI and pic qulaity is superb

* Online playing is superb - my son regularly thrashes foreign players on Motorstorm

* bluetooth connectivity so lots of adaptability with wireless headsets etc.. if you want to chat online

* loads of free game demos via the playstation store - again all free (along with movie trailers, etc... )

For the money you cant beat it!!

Does the PS3 have a standard ethernet port ? I have a wireless router but only use wireless for my laptops, while my main PC beast uses cable.

As does 360 - Its a Media Center Extender so works flawlessly with VISTA, XP etc - you can also plug in any usb device including IPODS etc

* Online playing is superb - my son regularly thrashes foreign players on Motorstorm

I think you can depending on what you want.

My 360 has HDMI, ethernet or wireless, 120GB hard drive etc - More games out for 360 that are worth playing.

As I said I'll probably end up with a PS3 but ONLY for GT5.

Yes, it does.
Handily my PS3 sits next to my router too, so was a no-brainer to have it plugged in

Mine is across the house and so fire I've tried wireless (only works reliably if I switch of all security) and homeplug (makes my subwoofer buzz and achieved low speeds) so it looks like I need to buy a ladder and a big drill bit

Me too. Got a 360 already and just played PGR3 until Forza 2 came out (as it's closer to the GT series in concept and execution). However, as soon as GT5 is here then I'll be going to the shops and coming up with decent excuses why I need both a 360 and PS3.....

as long as its a decent game, when i compare the last gt4 or whatever its called, the driving was not as feelsome and realistic as the original FM1

Any 360 owners play online? My friends list is full at the moment but I'm sure I could spare some space for fellow UK e90posters..

I play Forza2, PGR4, Chromehounds, Orange Box, Crackdown, Rainbow 6 Vegas, Flatout (great driving game aswell), Ghost Recon 2 and others.

Looking forward to GH3 and COD4

You said you thought PGR4 was realistic. It ain't compared to Forza2 - try it.
