M3 M4 first press drive reviews not until June 2014

I know many BIMMERPOST members are antsy for first official press drive reviews, so I thought I'd let everyone know not to expect them until June 2014, when the international launch press drive event will take place. The first deliveries will also happen around this time.

Edit: Whether there are reviews from other special events or previews is another matter, I can't speak for.

Wow, with dealer launch cars already being ordered and I assume regular orders will be open just after launch the press will be late to the party. Shouldn't we reasonably have several member test drive reviews and maybe even owner reviews before June? I guess the Mediterreanean need to warm up first to offer the right atmosphere for the press parties...

Guess I need to change my plans.

I was answering no to actual owner reviews before June

Whether there are reviews from drives of launch cars may be another matter.

Launch cars are suppose to go into production in April. Thats what we are estimating right now. How long from production to showroom we don't know. June or Later could be pretty accurate.

I believe from the beginning the M4/M3 was slatted to be released early to mid summer 2014.

Like others are saying its going to be a longggggg wait

So maybe private owners who has been offered dealer launch cars could get one prior to June but if the launch cars aren't getting here prior to June, no go I guess. I just hope I can test drive one before June, living in Seattle will not make it easier I'm sure...

I'm not waiting until Summer is halfway over. June is too late. I'm betting we will see reviews by the end of March.

If customer cars don't start delivery until late June/July surely they must be MY15, then?

Isn't June 2014 too late?

What information do you have (that Jason doesn't) that you are basing this statement on?

It'll probably be a 3-month MY14 production run for the F80 and F82, with MY15s starting production in September/October.

Highly unlikely the would start a new model with a three month production run. Expect they will be MY15s.

i was surprised to see a 2014 M4 US spec car. i remember there wasn't a 2007 e92 m3 in the US, as it started as 2008. takes little bit to make cars than ship them. its a process.

i would think 2015 M4 would be the case here also.

honestly though these cars are going to be hard to get in 2014.

I was talking to my friend who works for BMW here in UK. They don't expect to see the new M3 or M4 until August!

Also, how strange is this...although they are an official M approved dealership he said that they have a limited amount of cars per dealership 2 M4's per month, 1 M3 every second month. M is only making limited numbers of the M3...

i think there is nothing to strange about getting limited number of M cars.

my dealership said the same thing about M cars. they can only have limited amount.

Who knows. Remember the MY10 production run for the E9XM? That was about 5 months. The MY11 production was over 18 months.

No, you misunderstand me. I'm surprised that there are more M4's than M3's
