Need help when I put my car in revers my passenger side mirror tilts down (normal) but when I put iron drive and it tilts up then the mirror. Doesn't move to its original position. What do I need to do to prevent this.

The side view mirror adjustment switch (left or right mirror adjustment) on driver's side door. Switch to the opposite mirror (I forget left or right) and the mirror will not tilt down when backing up.

Actually I've experienced this before.
Put in reverse, mirror tilts down as usual. Get it out of reverse, be it Park, Neutral or Drive, the mirror will tilt back up BUT it'll move to the left (in) viewing the side of the car instead. Service Manager said it may be the mirror causing it, more prominent on the E9X series, since the memory position is stored there for positioning purposes. But since it was intermittent and I was having issues with the iDrive profiles not retaining settings (would forget settings between 2 keys), they decided to update the VO of the car. Issues aren't happening anymore at the moment, and I noticed one or two feature changes such as the Comfort Access for the Trunk flashing twice before opening (and being more sensitive) instead of opening the trunk right after you kick. So at the very least, have them update the software as a first step. If it doesn't solve it, they'll most likely replace the side mirror. |
