Painting the lower grill inserts black..or removing them..if that is possible without making it look like crap.

That's what I did, just sanded it smooth & painted it matte-black.
I already have a good amount of chips though..
If you go to realoem.com & get the finisher rods from a 325 (I think), it's like $25 (+/-) for the black rods.

Yes ma'am.
I already did though.
That was after a night-trip from San Francisco & I got my stuff put on the day after so I was eager to take pictures.

It can be removed & it's in the DIY Compilation.
You just pull up & give a good amount of force on it.
It looks pretty bad out though.. IMO

I like the wheels. I saw an e46 w/ these, and was wondering how those would look an a black e90. Question answered!

I've been thinking about this Race Mesh Grill from the attached website below. They can finish it with a black powder coat. I'm just curious if it will look ok and/or will it decrease air flow?

+1 ny3cr: pics would be great. I have a Barbera Red e90 and think all black or deleted will look good.

guys, please don't just 'rip out' the rods, I mean you could, but chances are you'll rip a few tabs off of the bumper.

I would take off the front bumper, then remove the rods from behind the bumper. and yes, leaving the rods off looks like crap, you can see that it's missing a few body parts.

I removed my lower grills (partially because I had to install ACS lip that requires removal of side parts), and so far I think I looks pretty good. Check it out:

i think the best grill for the e90 is the ///M grills. The Mtech kit comes with it and i absolutely love them. I think that would be the best alternative... yet again, you'll have to do quite a bit of fabricating to get them to fit.

Oh yea, for those that don't know, the ///M grill is like a stretched out (horizontally) honey comb grill.

that picture is too far to tell how it looks

the sides are fine because it's being covered up by the ACS lip, but if you show a close up pic of the center portion, you'll see that it's 'missing something'
