E93 lease ending soon, no 4 vert yet...A5??
My lease on my 2011 LMB M-Sport e93 will be ending in a few months and I find myself in a tough situation.
There will not be a 2014 3 convertible....the 4 convertible is not announced yet and no pricing is out yet (but most likely higher) and my local dealer said May is when I might get one if I order it in February. Am I smoking crack for thinking about the Audi A5?? I went and looked at it and it looks nice, did not drive it since it was buried behind other cars and I did not have time to wait.

I saw the 435i convertible at BMW headquarters in Woofcliff N.J. With the exception of the ugly frontend, it looks similar to the E92. The rear window has more of a slant leading to the trunk, than the F32 non convertible. The msport is a must. It makes the car look so much nicer. I also saw the 2 series. Nice, pretty much the same size as the E46 models. If you could wait for these models to debut, aesthetically they look good. I heard they will be launched spring 2014. I took pictures, just trying to figure out how to post them. Good luck.

When my lease comes due in something like 100ish days I need to get something and cannot wait for something to be release. Need 4 seats..... need room for a car seat. And my budget is under $60k and want to stay in a vert if possible.

I feel like going from a 3 to a 2 is a downgrade and I also cannot wait for a car to come out, need to roll in to a new car when mine is due.

A few of my friends own A5's. You're looking at a world of hurt maintenance and problem wise. I wouldn't do it. I came from the Audi world, my last car was a twin turbo Audi and it had many problems dropped 7k into it for issues then the next one popped up I gave up and purchased my e93. Have had it two years no issues whatsoever with the drivetrain.
If you can wait for the new 4 conv, I would. The top is essentially the same as ours looks, opens and closes exactly the same way. Was hoping for a little more innovation in this area but hey...a person can't argue that it works well so why mess with a good thing right?

Work something out with the dealer you leased your E93 from. If you order a new F3X Vert from the dealer, I'm sure there is a way to extend the lease, or buy your current car with a predetermined trade-in price once your car comes in.

I was in a similar situation with my work truck that I drive back and forth.I was waiting for the next gen to come out and it was about 8 or 9 months before I could get it.They were more then happy to let me keep it.Go in and talk to them.It probably won't be a big deal.Especially if they know you're going to switch to an Audi. If they want to keep your business, they'll just let you keep it until the new vert is in for you. They are still getting paid. Thats pretty much all that matters.

Just because of the hardtop I would say no. But you lease cars so the soft top won't be an issue to you. So get what you really want

Why does one have to switch brands because their lease is ending?
BUY what you want. Usually, if what one wants is not available, one waits until it is. my .02 if you want a 4 vert. |

Here's the unthinkable--drive a non BMW, until the BMW becomes available? It's not as embarrassing as one might think. I've driven my 1998 Nissan to work plenty of times, I just wear a hoodie and try to get to the office 1/2 hr before anyone else. One person did see me once, so I laid him off before he could tell anyone.

Why not buy out your lease and keep your current car? Lemans blue, m-sport e93 is a very rare find. Its highly unlikely to be found used anywhere. If your buyout isn't to bad you might even be able to buy it, sell it and make a profit.

Thanks for the input....I think I am going to talk to them about keeping my car till the 4 vert is out.
I liked the Audi A5 vert but it didn't really wow me. I really want another vert, but might need to look at a more practical car for the family.... need to fit a car seat. I would buy this one, but since writing off a lease works better for me then purchasing I am going to lease something else. Here is a pic of my e93, I have not seen another one like it around.
