Repair paint quality
I posted a thread last week about my E92 that got in a crash. They called me today telling me the damage is $12k (insurance paying $11k). They aren't repairing anything just replacing the bumper, grills, hood, steering wheel. They said the damage did not pass the bumper which is a good thing. They said they will order all parts from BMW and paint them. My car is getting repaired at sterling collision center, will there be any lacking quality in the paint job?

$1k deductible or does your insurance blow?

Depends on who's doing the paintwork I guess. Provided they use a BMW authorized paint and offer a warranty you should be ok.
Don't be afraid to take it back if it's not a spot on color match. |

Look for a repair shop that has a lifetime warranty on repairs.
Yes, they exist. I went to one when my old car got rear ended and needed a replacement bumper. Their work was amazing and lifetime warranty is pretty great. Never had any issues with paint or fitment.

Jesus- I'm sorry, I'll keep my 500$ deductible- not worth the few dollars saved a year for the higher choice (assuming you did that of course.)

Not necessarily. I raised my collision deductible to $1,000 because it lowered my rates drastically. I really only have collision insurance just in case something really catastrophic happens to the car, so the $1,000 is negligible.

catastrophes are usually covered under comprehensive, not collision.
