Is this a good price for a 60k E90 335i?
Hi guys, new member here but I have been lurking for awhile. I am fairly dead set on getting a 335 as my next car and have been obsessed with them for a couple of years now.
Very few mid mileage clean cars seem to be available in my area and I am willing to travel for the right deal but haven't found it yet. I test drove an E90 2007 with 60k on it the other night and loved it. Very clean, sport package and a 6MT. Only a couple drawbacks, no idrive and not an XI. The dealership can get me out the door with all of the taxes and title fees for about $19k. It has been dealer maintained and has a clean carfax, but none of the usual suspects have been replaced yet like the waterpump, HPFP, or turbo. I am thinking about taking the leap if they will throw in a good set of snow tires, what do you guys think about this deal? Should I bite or holdoff and wait for one with idrive and or an XI. Clean 6MT's just seem so hard to find. Thanks in advance for your thoughts and advice. Last edited by LaxIan55; 10-31-2013 at 10:17 AM.. |

Sounds like a good deal, especially if you're able to get a set of snow tires thrown in. You'll love the 6MT. I formerly drove a 2005 e46 M3 w/ 6MT and absolutely loved it and miss it. Although my current e90 335i is more practical with kids.

Hold off, 19k isnt the best price for a 2007 w/ 60k. Plus the fact that nothing major has been replaced yet just means everything is due soon. 2007's are the one year 335's are known to break down frequently. & honestly this might be just me but wait for a car with idrive/nav, its not about the features but more for its looks; enhances the interior x1000.

Second this- i would wait and find one with some of that stuff done- injectors, hpfp, hopefully turbos, but at least the first two- look on car gurus and autotrader for manuals and try to get 08 or higher if you can..

Personally I think the idrive diminishes the look of the interior. It adds that extra hump to the dash and just looks out of place.
19k seems like a decent price. I will tell you that the e90's are going for a few thousand less than the e92's. You are buying a rwd car just before the winter. Seems like you are already using that to your advantage with the thought of throwing in snow tires. If idrive is a huge deal, hold off or you will surely regret it. |

Located in Central NJ, I would be looking to do a dealer pass thru trade in so I can re-coup my taxes on buying a 2010 335 xdrive CPO (Basically it's like trading into the dealership and they are flipping the car to you directly). But I would need to find a good 2010 CPO to buy from the dealership as a criteria. - Faz |

I got a 2 year 24,000 mile warranty. There was a 5 year 50k one available but they wanted $8,000.00 for it and I just couldn't rationalize spending 50% of the cost of the car...hope I didn't make a mistake.

So many haters and so much misinformation. If you look around, there are plenty of high/higher mileage 07 335s running strong. The 07s are actually more desirable in my opinion (assuming you find a nice one) as they come with the coveted N54, are becoming more reasonable in price, have strong aftermarket support, and any issues are well documented.

n54 is a god of an engine, though i'd try to find one that has had the turbos replaced recently, most because thats a huge job and if thats been done then chances are most other things have been done. My 07 has had its fare share of issues but by now all of them have been taken care of and fixed/replaced with a better part. So really an 07 thats had all this stuff done is almost like a new car and best bang for your buck. 07s have some age on em now but if them have been taken care of most of them should have a ton of new parts by now.
