You can check your oil by using the scroller on the BC stalk on the left side of your steering wheel. Also you can bring up check control to see when the next timed interval for an oil change is, but if you're concerned just have the oil changed now and worry about it!

How many miles on your coupe? Did you buy it from a dealer? Maybe they have a service history. But for peace of mind, since you do not know when was the last time the oil was change, I suggest you do an oil + filter change ASAP.
Beautiful car. |

I recently purchased an e90 as well. When I stopped by the dealership, the service manager was able to pull off my next scheduled oil change from the key. Worth a try!

When ever I buy a used car.
Do the maintenance services right away. Then you don't have to guess or worry about if the service was done or not. Just my 2cents. DN |

You really just need to search the Forum and you'll find way more than you'd ever want to know about engine oil. A quick visit to the maintenance section and a few minutes of reading just the "stickies" will answer your questions. Or you could just read the owner's manual and learn how the CBS system works (hint - it tells you when the next oil change is required...).
I can tell right off the bat that you'll be the type of owner that doesn't believe in BMW's extended oil change intervals, so just change the oil now and change it on 7,500 mile intervals; you'll not ever have to worry about engine oil ever again. |

To be safe change it now. Mobile 1 Ultra Synthetic Euro Formula is what I use. They say you can go 13K with ultra synthetic but I go every 6-7 depending on the weather and how often I've been driving.
