It's probably your head gasket. How much oil is in the coolant reservoir?

its the oil filter housing gasket, coolant and oil pass thru it, when it fails they can mix. easy fix, cheap gasket. takes less than an hour.

if its a lot of oil in the coolant and you have combustion gases, and you have milky chocolate color shit under your oil cap, and coolant smells from your exhaust, then its your head gasket. easy to check for that though with a compression test.

Is this also what's causing it to leak or tht might be a separate problem?

if its leaking down the front of the motor then yea, the valve cover gasket typically leaks down the passenger side of the motor where the exhaust manifold is.

Can't hurt to do both, change your oil and flush your coolant and you should be good.
