Had some issues with our 330xi last week

I know I don't post much. But I'm posting for others to learn or to help diagnose their car.

We got our oil changed in our 06 330xi well. After that it developed a very rough idle.

Throwing 2EF4. 29CD. 29D0. 29CC. 2A2F. 2A2E

Now. These in order are Map sensor. Misfire Injectors 1 + 4. Multiple injectors misfire. And A/F codes

It would run fine. But off idle or at idle would run like pure crap.

After looking around online and diagnosing the car. I saw one person say to check the oil cap.

After inspecting that. It was a 1/4 turn lose. It caught the engine cover. After tightening. The engine ran fine

Yesterday. The car wouldn't start. 12 volts at the battery. All the lights worked. Over the past two months. The HVAC fan wouldn't run at full speed. Well. When you hit the start button. The car would blink off. Then back on. at this time the battery dropped to 7-8 volts. Then back to 12.

Battery indicator just stated it was low on charge. But that doesn't explain the retarded voltage drop.

Not to mention its been getting slower to start in the mornings.

I replaced the battery. No I didn't have it registered. I may do that. Depending on cost but non ill effects. I purchased an AGM battery from advance auto. I got a good discount on it. Anyway. Their computers called for an H6 battery. But that wasn't right and the guy knew it. He said it was really an H8. So he got that and it was a perfect fit. And was 900CCA! So the battery fixed all the other issues as well.

Just posted this here for all to see. And maybe help them with their cars

A loose oil cap can definitely cause those problems. Any vacuum leak will cause the car to lean out to the point of misfires.

Without the battery registration and correct coding for AGM battery you run the risk of killing your new battery prematurely. Up to you whether you think the added cost of the coding/registration is worth it or not...

Holy thread revival lol

No issues with the new battery yet.

I can't see spending the 100 bucks and 30-45 minute drive to have it registered. I can get a new battery for the same cost and have a new battery. Lol

And that's why I shared. So others who may have those issues can check those first!
