Okay so heres the deal, I leased my car from Moritz bmw and some people say I got a great deal and some say I didnt get that great of a deal after all.
Heres the details e90 335i stickered at $49300 MF .00239 Residual 61% 15 miles a year and 0 money down monthly payment is 683 for 36 months... Good or bad deal? I need someone whos good at this kind of stuff to let me know. Also there was a tax credit somewhere in there Any feedback would be appreciated, Oh and btw i searched and couldnt really get a good answer for my situation Thanks!!

I honestly don't think it's worth the calories to even think about it anymore. It's too late for buyer's remorse. You have three years now of driving enjoyment ahead of you. And you're burning gas now, so what's it really worth to you to either have ill feelings or elation that you got a great deal or not. The ink's dry and you're enjoying your BMW. It sounds like you're comfortable paying what you're paying, so just move on and enjoy it.. Congratulations! |

Good! No other info needed. The "jump with joy" line was all we needed to hear. |

When I lived in SF, it seemed like a more intelligent decision to rent a two bedroom condo for $1,800 a month instead of buying one for $750k to a mil and having the huge nut. I didn't dabble in the SF housing market, but I knew alot of "smart" people who rented apartments in SF and they didn't seem stupid to rent a house and lease a car. Maybe in Manhattan, houses(apartments, flats, etc.) aren't depreciating, but it seems that that in many places around the country, there's a clear downward trend in home prices. I get a laugh everytime I hear someone talk about their house as an investment and then treat it like a piggy bank pulling equity like there's no tomorrow. It's not an investment, it's..well, your home that you live in. The same goes for cars. Yes, they depreciate, but it's your transportation, so leasing can make sense to some since they're paying for the depreciation and can be useful for write offs, getting into a car for less, etc. Then there's some "smart" people that buy because they want something to call their own after a few years and not have to be continually leasing every three years. IMO, it's smarter to pay cash for a pre-owned car and drive it to 200k and the wheels fall off. If the carrying costs are low (like at 3.9%-4.9%), I don't think it's a "stupid" decision to buy and finance as long as one's committed to keeping the car until the end of the term. |
