Came across a '02 cammed Z06 Vette today

It didn't go the way I wanted it to go. I followed this guy a good 5 miles to the free way, going the opposite direction I needed to go.
But I wanted to see how the car stacks up with my new tune and everything.

We get on the freeway and he hangs behind me not acting like he wanted to go. I go ahead and put it in 4th and speed up to about 90 and then slow down.
He then decides hes ready and gets over. Im doing about 60-65 and I put it in S4 (have alpine flash) I wait til hes right next to me and I nail it, we stay side by side til about 90 and then I had to left off because I was coming up on a car infront of me quickly.
He continues to keep going to Id say 120 and just flys down the freeway.

He never slowed down to go at it again since the freeway was wide open now. As he got off the freeway he rolled down his window and waved. Im pretty sure he thinks he won lol.

Im pretty confident I would've pulled away on him if I could've gotten close to the top of 4th. I should've started off in 3rd but I wanted to see what would happen.

Wish I could do it again, but hey for being in 4th at 60mph and him probably going into 3rd since I used to own a vette just like it, I held up against him pretty well.

How bad was the lope? You had a c5z before?

Because it had a noticeable lope. Id say roughly a 228/228 give or take. It wasn't extremely aggressive. But it wasn't a stock cam I know those are like mid 200s

Just saw my sig is missing a mod. I have RBs and running E50 BB flash tune with JB4 G5

I was on map 5 not map 7, so I was only boosting 15lbs roughly. On map 7 I hit 20.2 consistantly

It's putting down 400 at best. My head cammed FBO C5 only did 434/428

I can agree with around 400rwhp from the smaller sized cam you estimated.

Are you running pump gas, meth, e85 mix?

Only reason I ask is because 15psi from RBs would put the car in the mid to low 400rwhp range right?

But I'm glad you got to run the vette, I've stalked a few cars in the wrong direction of my destination only to get no race.

Also coming from the LSx world I do love this new turbo engine. Still hard to replace the LSx sound and tranny though....

I love the C5Z's, I wanted one for two years but I couldn't get over the price for a good specimen with such old tech. Love the drivetrain and chassis but hated everything else.

They're mid to low 12 sec cars stock. Not sure you would have pulled him.

He didn't really have a sticker across his windshield saying "cammed" did he?

Lol don't think he needed one since I owned one that was cammed. I know what a stock lope on a c5z sounds like.
Also even with a cam and tune he's maybe a high 11 car
I haven't taken mine to the track but other RB cars are into the 11s no problem
