Car cover recommendations? F30 vandalized
So my family member's 2 month old car (2013 F30) got vandalized. Some deep scratches on the front bumper below head lights (while parked with front side towards the curb). Unlikely to be damaged by another car.
Also found a footprint in the same general area. HATE the haters. What are some good car covers? Not too heavy to prevent paint marring, and durable. Thanks guys! Lot of people hate our BMWs.

I personally would not own a decent car that can not be kept indoors in a secure garage, but I know that is not possible everywhere.
Lots of decent options for car covers, but truth be told, they are a pain to take on and off and get stolen so then you are back to square one. I would not even buy one because after a week you are tired of using it and then you are leaving it uncovered and are out the money for the cover. Hopefully, the douchebag vandal has gotten it out of their system. |

Sadly, I agree with this. The novelty of the car cover wears off REALLY fast when the vehicle is a daily driver, and it's a bad idea to use car covers on a dirty car. I usually receive a free car cover with every BMW purchase, but after the novelty wears off I have found that I used them only when leaving the car parked outdoors for more than a couple of days. I end up selling them on the forums. |

Car covers just makes the aholes wonder what is under the cover and attracts them even more. Security cameras around the house might help more than the cover.

California Car Covers, thinking about ordering one myself actually http://www.calcarcover.com They have some that are thick enough to resist dings too. Not too expensive considering.

And those people leaning with their butts and elbows. Pros and Cons I know, may not fix the original issue I agree.

I had my 95 e36 M3 parked outdoors for 3 years without moving under the original BMW car cover. It is a breathable fabric meaning water and moisture does not collect under the cover. I moved the car indoors but still have the car cover while indoors for 5 more years. I moved it indoors because I would come home and see the cover is tampered with because people are curious what is under the cover. The cover held up all these years with no holes. In my opinion, buying a cover for a DD car is not practical. You have to make sure car is clean before covering it. When I fold my cover, I make sure the side that touches the car is clean and never touch the ground. I also fold it neatly to fit the storage bag every time. Oh and I also have the lock kit.

I'm working out of town an just bought an '11 550i. I need a car cover for this winter. Thought it might come in handy afterwards even in the hot summer days at work. Has anybody bought one or have a recommendation? I was thinking about a covercraft ultra tect.
