Had a run in with the battery cable recall issue today, scared the crap outta me.

Figured I would share in case any one else has the same issue and gets stranded.

I came home after getting a quote on repainting my rear bumper, park the car, go inside to fix this cracked macbook I had just picked up from a client. I come back out and my door won't unlock with the key... Odd... I open it up with the metal key to find absolutely no power and the fob slot won't accept the fob. We try to jump it no luck, we call AAA, then I finally decided to open the glove box and I give the fuse box a few smacks and bang, power restored. Clearly the battery cable issue. Drove the car to return the laptop and all seemed fine, none the less I called Rallye BMW, have an appointment saturday and what should be a nice BMW loner waiting!

Same, I never had any issues or symptoms so I ignored it, but clearly now I cannot. Should be fun to drive around in a new loaner though!

As a new owner of an E90, I'm concerned whether or not this affects me? I have an '09 328i. Would not mind giving the car to the dealership to have peace of mind down the road.

To many amps running through that cable to ignore it. It will not improve with age.
