Canadian Model - Accessories on Running Lights Off?
Driving a 2009 323i (Canadian). I'm trying to figure out how to turn off all of my lights with the car OFF and Accessories ON.
Usually I leave my lights on Auto - tried turning them to the off position, lights still stay on. Tried switching it to all the other positions as well. Took a look through the manual and did a search online but can't find anything. I know in Canada running lights need to be on at all times (even during the day) but if the car isn't running there must be a way to do this. Thanks! the DRL's operate on the same circuit as having Accessories ON.
To have all the lights off: Light switch in "off" position DRL's turned off (via the menu in dash, or iDrive if you have navigation) The car being on or off is irrelevant.

Thanks for the reply.
There is no option in my dash menu for running lights - again I would assume this is because they must be on at all times in Canada while you're on the road. Having said that I find it hard to believe this wouldn't be an option. |

Yes there is.
while ignition is on and car is stationary. Car can be on or off, irrelevant. 1) Go up with BC stalk's scroll until you see a lock. Click BC 2) scroll until you see the shape of the sun with headlights below. Click BC 3) scroll from on to off, Click BC DRL's have been turned off. Disclaimer: This is illegal to do in Canada, but you have the ability to.

If the light selector is in the auto position, open the drivers side door with the key still in the slot. It will turn off the lights, but leave accessory on. Your radio will work for a few minutes before it cuts. Once that happens, just double tap the key and everything should be working with lights off for as long as you want. I did this exactly this last night for around an hour while I took a phone call.
