Planning 5-day ED trip. Suggestions?

Leaving to Munich in a few weeks, but unfortunately can only go for 5 days
So, Wednesday I'm picking up the car and Sunday have to fly back

I'm interested in good scenery places and good roads for break-in

I thought of Munich - Rome - Paris route, but i'd like to hear others opinion

Thank you

That's too much to travel in 5 days IMO. You can spend 5 days in any of those cities alone. 5 days I'd pick a maximum of 2 cities if you want to hit the big cities. What kind of things do you want to do over there?

If you want to go to Italy on a quick 5 day trip I would go from Munich straight to Venice. If you are really ambitious, you could do a day trip to Florence to go shopping. Did you have any place in mind to drop your car off of? Don't forget to allow enough time for travel. I think if you feel too rushed during your trip, you may not enjoy it as much. Some of my favorite memories of Europe is just sitting back, relaxing, and enjoying the ambience. FWIW, my trip was 17 days long. I loved Paris, but I would not drive from Munich straight to Paris on such a short trip.

I lived in France for almost a year supporting a contract at IBM. I had 3 and four day weekends My favorite weekend trips were to the Alps. Pretty much anywhere in the Alps and especially parts of Austria. Chamonix was exceptional also.

Do a circle from Munich, down through Innsbruck, over to Verona/Venice, Zurich via Milan, then back to Munich. Or skip Verona/Venice as it's pretty flat and stay in the ALPs along the northern part of Italy.

I'd go to Venice and then back up the Autobahn for another 155mph cruise to drop off in Munich.

You can drop off in Austria as well. I didn't feel comfortable with someone driving my car to drop it off. You have to do this if you drop off in Europe.

Here's some information:

Oh i see
My original plan was to go back to Munich
Later i found out there were few drop off locations in EU, but i thought they handled shipment the same way.
I guess Italy is different story, good to know

My first ED was a 6 day trip. We landed and picked up in MUC on a Thursday morning, stayed in MUC 2 nights. Next, we drove to Salzburg, Austria on Saturday morning and stayed there one night. The next day we drove the Deutsche Alpenstrasse across from Salzburg to the town of Hohenschwangau to see the Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles by way of Berchtesgaden. Stayed there one night and drove to Rothenburg ob der Tauber for one night on Monday night. Drove back to Munich on Tuesday afternoon and spent our final night in Munich and returned to the USA on Wednesday. That's a 6 night itinerary, but you could do just one night in Munich to start, and then do my loop.

All this talk of driving all the way to Venice or Rome or whatever is waaayyy too much driving to actually enjoy the trip. You really don't leave any time to do even a cursory exploration of whatever city you're in.

I had 6 days and decided to only do Munich to Berlin back to Munich. If I did it again, I'd probably drive to Zurich as I hear it's much more scenic. I went in March, so there was a possibility of snow on the ground still in Switzerland, and I didn't want to risk it. Rome/Paris are both very far to drive, especially if you're planning on a return trip to Munich. Even a drive out to Neuschwanstein is very scenic, and that's only like an hour and a half out from Munich.

Andrey,
First of all - congratulation on your new car.!
Second, my recomendation:
Munich -> 4 hr-> Zurich(stop for 4 hr) -> 45 min -> Lucerne(sleep)->4 hr-> LakeComo(sleep ) -> 1 hr - > Milan and back!!!
need more info - PM me!

Edit: you can go streight from BMW welt to Hurms - fill all papers and left them one of your spear key - and bring your car back and drop off on saturday.
