Front bumper mod?

I kind of like the M-tech, but i think it looks a little too "happy".

Was thinking of taking my bumper and the little silver pieces in the middle of the black esh, snap em off, and get an M-tech like look.

Anyone know how to take them off without breaking them?

It will not look right. You are better off getting the 328 version...or just painting your rods black.

I am aiming to do just a black mesh grill with no rods inbetween. I want the mesh to be flush with the bumper, no attachments for the bumper rods sticking out.

How did you get the center mesh off? Did it require you to remove the bumper.

If anyone could post a DIY for removing the center mesh it would be great!

Once you have the bumper off, you'll see the tabs on the back of the bumper for the mesh. It should pop right off...

I wouldn't necessarily recommend doing this though. Having a huge gaping hole in the bumper is going to accumulate all kinds of debris including squirrels and small children.

I first put automotive tape around the center portion to protect the paint then after removing the center spear which is easy I unclipped each tab and pushed the mesh toward the radiator and with patience I was able to carefully remove the center mesh with out taking off the bumper. I then painted the tabs a flat black so that they blend in more. They are originally the color of your car paint. Ideally a third party vendor could make us a full black mesh front that just snapped in. Sorry I did not take any pics while I was doing it.
