Replacing headlight covers

Hi, new here.

I recently upgraded from an E46 to an E90 but the E90 headlights are horribly pitted and don't look good. From what I have found so far, you can't simply replace the covers like on the E46's.

The dealer wants about 1800CDN for 2 new full headlights. I noticed in another thread here that you can order the euro style headlights on ebay for around 1400US which is better but is there any other option? My only real complaint is about how pitted my covers are. I have better things to do with close to 2 grand but I will order the Ebay ones if they are the best option.

Thanks

Do you have halogen or xenon ? I dont think you can replace just the cover.

Xenon lights. But not the adaptive ones.

These are the ones I was looking at online:

Are these a safe bet to go with? Any other options?

I also want to check into new foglights, anyone know off hand if that requires a full replacement too?

Anyone know of any other options?

Someone told me about some kind of plastic polish that might make them look a bit better although I can't see it making much of a difference.

if you feel adventurous, you can wet-sand your headlight cover. Other than that, best thing for you is to buy new headlights and CLEARBRA them to preven future damages.

I might give that a try. And I definitely plan on putting 3M on them.

There must be someone that bought the ebay ones that wants to sell their stock ones too.

I can do it for you - however you would need to find a set of headlights that DO have good lens'. I could opwn both of them up for you and then use the good lens' on your headlights.

You can get either Halogen or Xenon headligt Lens'. they are the same.

Or you can have them wet sanded / buffed
WARNING on that though - The headlights lens are made of 2 layers, and the top layer is very thin, so DO NOT sand too much

XPEL is also an awesome headlight covering. NAMotorsports sells it,
