Paintless dent repair or full repair?

Truck door got me!

My local body-shop doubts paint-less dent repair will get it all out, but for $450 they will make it as good as new.

So, do I drop a $100 and give paint-less dent repair a try or spend the $450 for guaranteed work?

I have never had PDR done before so I have no clue. The dent is hard to see looking straight on (especially during daylight) but of course I notice it EVERY TIME I look at my car :/

Here is a pic at night that highlights the dent:

Pay the money for PDR. I had it done on my 328i and the technician came to my house and saw him work his magic for over an hour since it was in a location that he had to use suction cups from the exterior instead of the tool used in the video above. BTW I paid $150 and can not find the dent anymore.

Thanks for the info! After watching some of the youtube videos I feel better about PDR (although some were painful to watch).

I will find someone with a good rep here in Austin and give them a try.

Thanks!

Go PDR I would never have a panel shop work on my car if it wasn't absolutely necessary

i guess all depend on the damage. if a normal dent, you need to make sure the dent is popped out without stretching the metals in the surrounding. that's why the technician target each side and gently massage the dent back up slowly. Once the metal stretched, it will be permanent.

There is a great PDR video from Youtube Drive Channel by Larry from AMMONYC

Check with BMW themselves - I know my lease actually includes PDR so if I have any problems I just drop the car into them.

PDR for sure is the way to go. I had a $6000 hail claim on my wife's Outback done by PDR and it is incredible what can be done with some time and effort.

30 minutes and $100 later no more dent. Not even a trace of dent. Amazing.

Thanks for all the tips!
