Golf tee mod

So I had been conducting a little experiment with the golf tee mod. With the mod active I notice the RPMs are a little sporadic and the AT shifts a little differently. Was this just in my head or is there a possible explanation?

Do you notice this more during cold starts? If so, I have noticed it also. I cant think of a logical reason why it would effect it though.

it should not have any noticeable affects. All aftermarket exhaust do not have the flapper, including BMW's own PE.

Actually Yes. I've had the stock flapper plugged in for months now, no issues. Redid the golf tee mod and now I have a ton of idle misfires... Maybe the golf tee is not sealing perfectly.

How does that make sense since none of the aftermarket exhausts have the flapper, including BMW's own PE? And there are no issues with anyone else...

I have had the flapper unplugged for about 8k miles (others have had it longer) and have only recently had a misfire. i think your case is just coincidence.

In fact, I think with the flapper open all the time, it's supposed to help the car more; less backpressure = better for turbos.

20K miles and some.
Got a miss the other day with my Cobb Ap on any map besides stock.
Changed my plugs and no issues,

Golf tee mod doesn't cause car to misfire.

Unplugged at the connector is different than plugged with a golf tee... I just plugged the vac hose back onto the flapper and the idle miss went away for the most part.... IF there is a vac leak it is going to cause issues. I'll try to do some experimentation tomorrow with it if I can find my mityvac.

I figured there would be some different experiences based on how you perform the mod.
