Steptronic Transmission Problems... Help?

Hey Everyone -

I have a '06 330i automatic. I was driving on the interstate and like usual, I shifted to the Sports Transmission and down shifted. I realized there was no immediate acceleration. I looked down to see that the light on the gear shifter to indicate I had put the gear in Sports/Dynamic mode was not turned on. My dashboard info LED didn't indicate the change over either. Has anyone heard of this before?

Help

Hate to say it, but no matter what any of have or have not experienced only a dealer will be able to tell you anything definitive. Let them look at the car, perhaps a code shows up, although probably not. Let them know when, where and what happened.

BTW: has it happaned since?

Anyone else have something more halpful to add?

I've shifted into neutral before, not too good for the car I suspect. But however, even when I switch the gear into sports/dynamic shifter now, when I'm parked, it doesn shift over from the automatic mode. I went to the dealer today, the serv. mgr said she'd never heard of this before, so I had an appointment schedule for the 17th. Will keep you all posted.

Until then does anyone know what possibly is wrong with my transmission? Or maybe something mechanical broke in the shifter, so it doesn't sense that I'm in DS or sports shifter mode?

I had that issue once after I forgot to re-connect the wireplug in for the steptronic after I removed the center wood/idrive knob during a DYI.
