+1 I don't think it was Racism..The officer had every right to pull him over because of no visible tags..He should have just let the officer see the paperwork instead of not obeying the commands.. Refusing the officers commands because he was pissed for being pulled over is his fault he ended up in jail.

Up to the point where it was proven he was test driving the car I agree. After that the cops should have apologized for the misunderstanding and let him go.

Only if the officer could have confirmed the legitimacy of the papers in the back of the vehicle; had the driver provided the papers, I dare say he would have been on his way... let's lay blame where it belongs: the driver.

Why is this racism, 'cause Sowell was black? How do we know the Officer wasn't black? C'mon, there were no tags on the car so he was stopped. Then he was asked, not ordered, to get out of the car. Resisted. Then to show some papers from the back seat. Resisted again. Resisting doesn't bode too well does it? You know if the cop requests things within reason, just comply and if you have problems with how they went about it, go to the proper channels complain. This wasn't racism, this was ignorance.

I don't understand why he was being so combative. Just let the man look at the paperwork and you were free to go. Won't get out of the car when they asked you to? Good luck fighting those charges when you were clearly guilty of obstruction and breaking the law of not having a plate on the car. People piss me off. When a cop asks you to do something, just do it, because 9 times out of 10 it won't end well for you. Oh and fuck off with the whole racism thing, stop making excuses for the driver's poor form and hostile attitude.

Again, up to the point where the story checked out I am with you, there was no reason to arrest him once the story was proven.
