Front Plate Holders

Ok i have not taken delivery of my car yet but very soon. So i was thinking should i tell the dealer don't mount my front plate and get tickets everyday. I decided i would let them just drill there holes and mount my plate. But i have recently found out something intresting at BMW. My friend has a 550 and his plate holder is the same color as his car. Could i ask my dealer to give me a 5 series front plate holder or is there a place to buy one. Because the black one is disquisting. Tell me what you all think. And i think if not already done many who need front plates will start doing this.

NO!! Don't let them drill the holder in.

Do this instead....drills underneath, so you still have it mounted and no tickets. But you can always take 2 min to take it off for photoshoots, meets, whatever. Then 2 min and put it back on anytime!!

I have a similar set up (custom made based on the idea above) you can see how it looks face on. But its drilled form underneath and there are no holes visible on my bumper!

In Ohio, it is a fine but no points if you get caught. I'm willing to take that risk. I don't know the law in NY.

I never had front plates on my E55AMG for the 2 years that I owned it. Never got a ticket, not even stopped once by the cops.

Watch out the **********s one only fits the e90 not the e92! I had Long paint one for me for my e92. It looks pretty good too! I then bought the license plate frame for the rear through Bimmian. Pics in my garage.
Good luck!

or if you want a body colored stock holder, contact longtran.

my friend has dumped his plate holder and fixed the plate to his bumper using double sided glue tape. It holds, also looks good, nothing to spoil the view (except the plate itself). I know it's a lilbit easier to do wih our euro plates, but just an idea for U.

His first setup was the following (BTW it's a sticker), but got it replaced soon after taking the pic:

Sorry, no pic of the recent setup with the plate glued to the bumper, but U can imagine it.

Which set up did you get? The one for the 3 series or the one for the 5 series? How far did it stick out from the bumper? TIA.

NO FRONT PLATE FTW!!!, i specifically pleaded with my CA not to have the front plate on, just take zipties with you at delivery so you can hook em on to the lower grilles. NO front plate and no PDI detail is one of the most important parts of the purchase for me. When are you picking up? i know your ship was wayy ahead of mine( UNDINE).
