2007 911 Turbo

I have been bugging my coworker to get to run our cars just for fun.
Today was the day. It's a 2007 911 Turbo 6 spd with a custom turbo back exhaust and 20k miles.
We did two runs off the line and one rolling 30mph start. Got him by two cars in every race. I will have a video next week. 3rd person that was videotaping it emailed it to me, but it showed up blank.
I was very surprised as his car is a 11.3-11.5 sec car. This made my day.

I will go out on a limb here and say the other driver hasn't raced his car much. 480hp car and 3500 curb weight. You mention you beat him by 2 cars in every race

He didn't have much experience hard launching an awd car in a manual form since he prefers autoX, that's why his suggestion was to do a race from a roll. Can't mess up there. Stock 911 runs 11.6 in the 1/4. With perfect launches we should have been dead even. Now from a roll, he should have pulled on me, but instead the M was creeping forward.

My friend had the same car as well. No vids but I beat him just like ur saying. I was surprised and even if we ran from like a 40 mph roll still walked on him. He sold the car and got a v10 m5 lmfao.

997.1's are slower in rolls but should get you off the line with a decent driver--- in 6 speed manual they are slower because driver error is involved with loss of boost at each shift. Those higher 11's times are coming from great drivers.

I had a 997.1TT and it was faster because it was a tip but it still wasnt close to my 997.2TT with PDK. The transmission makes a great difference in so many cars. I say this alot here- the DCT is so efficient it really allows car with more weight to cover the difference. Plus the F10 is much easier to drive than a 997TT stick.

I miss my 997.1- unique look

Was going to say the same thing. Even the Tip was S-l-o-w shifting compared to the DCT. The 997.2 with the PDK is a rocket. In fact, I confess that I was about to PM you (and still may) about a 997.2 PDK Turbo S...

Thats an awesome looking 997 Turbo mate! I am also waiting delivery on my 997.2 Turbo as I type this - all fully spec'd out like a Turbo S, with the Spyder rims, PDK, blah, blah, blah.

Driven my M5 for 25,000km over a year, countless hard driving road trips, time to let the Beast be driven by...... my wife.

Another former 997.1 turbo guy here and i can vouch that mastering the launch is very tricky and will waste the stock clutch especially on a modified car. Most guys drop in the gt2 clutch actuator when upgrading to a better compound clutch.. I will say that with the right amount of throttle and clutch work you can do gtr like launches but the 6mt is murder to smooth acceleration. I think my stock m5 could probably match my tune header exhaust 997.1. Tt just due to shifting and im pretty quick.

Some pretty sexy porsches presented.. Here was mine. I do miss her...

Thats not the AeroKit--- that is stock with the lowers painted. The AeroKit has a fixed rear spoiler.
