Improved racing 180 degree thermostat review

After doing a stainless steel line upgrade I guess the fittings on my Mocal 180 degree thermostat got damage and leaked a bit. So I decidede to get the improved racing thermostat and I am glad I did!

Pros:

1. Flows better
2. Removable/replacable fittings if damaged
3. Adjustable brackets
4. Can except a host of different size fittings
5. Looks and build quality

Cons:

1. Wish I would have gotten this sooner!!

10 degrees over the Mocal unit and it stays consistent....not up and down.

Shits off da chain isn't it? Glade you like it. Id recommend it to anyone. Have you noticed a difference in stability?

That's great. I have to get one of those too because my temps get kinda of high. I might have to change my oil brand/weight too because right now i use mobil1 0-40.

Dude you where totally right, the temps don't go up down...pegs 190 and literally stays!

Also when you said not to make lines tight (have a bit of flex) is why I trimmed so much off the bracket...gives a bit of flex. Great tip!

Let the wife know you need 220 in the garage for an electric oven. Dorthy is learning how to make cookies. 400 deg for 20 min and you don't have to worry about paint again. Well, most of the time... You can put this stuff on a couple of times to get a nice gloss or flat smooth finish. Kool stuff. Over spray just vacuums up and it doesn't stick to everything like paint.

Well, I've got a mocal sitting in the wings that I didn't install. Instead i'm using a thermostat delete insert on the stock housing, and will run it shortly at my track day at the end of this month. If I don't like how the temps behave I'll grab one of RB's delete plates and maybe try this (and sell the mocal).

Experimenting is fun.

I did that because it was not in the location I wanted and all my fittings are straight.

the bracket (one I painted) I moved it back so it put a bit less stress on the lines and fittings. Thermostat is straight.
