Keeping scratches off high-gloss black trim

Newbie posting here. Just picked up a new 328i black sparkling metallic sport line, with red stitching and high-gloss black trim and I love my new car so far.

Question for people out there with the high-gloss black trim, how's it been holding up for you? I'm a little worried about it's longterm durability and wonder if anybody's tried any preventative measures to keep it scratch-free. I have a 5 month old puppy that will be in the car (blasphemy to some of you, i know , but my dog is going to be with a lot) and I'm worried an accidental paw to the center console or door trim is going to make my trim look like a chew toy. Or worse yet, someone gets in my car and scratches the trim with the bling bling they're wearing.

Anybody have any ideas? I was thinking maybe some kind of clear-bra type wrap for the trim pieces until the dog's not a puppy anymore.

Put booties on the dog, and a muzzle.

haha booties are a great idea, but not something I want to think about every time my dog gets in the car. but if that's the only option I guess I have no choice right?

Would some of those stone-chip protective films work? You might have to resign yourself to replacing them once they look too scuffed, but at least the gloss black would be a bit more protected.

I'm worried about my gloss black trim too, but that's just concern that it will get scratched from people rubbing it every time they see it

I was thinking about one of those protective films, but since I've never had that done to my car I don't know if it's possible to have the pieces cut and applied over the interior trim. any thoughts?

3M came out with a spray on clear bra for DIYers. It's called 3M Paint defender. I've never used it but there are some reviews floating around the web. The black trim is clear coated, therefore it is correctable with polishes. If it were me, I would use a coating such as opticoat 2.0 or gtechniq c1. Both are very hard finishes that are much more resistant to scratching than the factory clear.

Anyone here with the M sport package, check out the gloss back trim on your B pillar. I bet its already swirled to shit. Mine is.

Ahhh that B pillar has got some of the softest paint ever. The swirls can be removed though
