License plate without plastic Frame

Hi,

I want to remove plastic frame for my license plates.

I'm wondering if I can use this 3M tape (Weather and car wash resistant.) which I already buy:

I have done exactly this last week. Such a cleaner look to the front end. I'm in favour!

Yeah it's true but is this tape "fine" for this ?

It is perfectly fine.
I used it for front and rear license plates, it has been almost 3 years and no problems at all.

Here's a photo. I must be very unobservant. I had never noticed that anyone had a plastic surround. I just assumed that my set-up was normal.
