E90 LCI USB problem

Hello all,

I have strange problem. I have e90, facelifted model with iDrive option (NAVI professional maps) + USB in glovebox.

I normally copy (import) my music over glovebox USB connector. For this I was using long time Sandisk 16 GB USB 2.0 stick. After I format it last month it's not working any more (not recognised by BMW).

I tried everything format as FAT32, NTFS, change and format a different "allocation unit size", also tried "restore device defaults" but nothing helped. USB is normally worked on PC and all other devices.
Then I also found my old USB stick (8GB) with FAT32 (4096 bytes allocation unit size) and it's working normal in BMW.

I don't know what's the problem, can anyone help me ? I need bigger USB stick (to export all music and reorganise on PC..) so 8 GB is too small.

Thanks

I tried as I written. I'm using WIN 7 x64 ->windows formatting tool. Maybe any other tool ?

I think there is a problem with "allocation unit size", I don't know what is "OK" for BMW ? I tried same as on old sub stick (3096) but it's not working

You could try a fresh start with the usb stick:

First in Windows run diskpart and enter

list disk (remember the number of the Memory usb card in the list)
select disk n (replace n by the number of the Memory usb card)
clean
exit

Be careful with this, do not attempt to clean any of your computers hd, always confirm by checking the corresponding byte sizes next to the storage device.

This should give a virgin usb stick which you could try reformatting in your chosen file type.

If this doesnt work it may be time for new usb stick as your current one may be corrupted?

Ok I will try it;

USB 100% working (it's 16 GB and I paid for it 1,5 year ago almost 65 GBP-titanium housing, sandisk quality)
