wtf Holes in engine bay driver side

I bought this car a few months ago, I saw some holes (actually 3 pear shaped) on the engine bay driver side in a way that I could see backside of the the tire/ suspension ... Is this normal ? Is there a rubber covering on them ? I also noticed a wire going thru one of them... man how do ppl keep their cars like that

I'll put up a picture

I think if you look in your engine bay on your driverside there are "holes" that lead to the wheel-well.

They are normal and I'm hoping this is what the OP is talking about.

It's just for air flow more then likely....

Sorry to bring an old thread back. So I was looking under the driver side wheel well because I hit a very deep pot hole here in NJ. And I was also checking inside the engine bay. I saw some holes and Im not sure if this is what your talking about...I m also concern if this is normal. I can see right through the wheel well looking from the engine bay. Can someone confirm if this is normal and there is nothing suppose to be covering them like a liner or something that might of came off? I attached a pic below.

I don't know why I never noticed this before. Thanks.
