motor mount bolt torque
Cannot find this anywhere, anyone know what the tightening TQ is for engine mount bolts. These are the torx head things, four of them, two each side. Thanks.
edit 18 ftlb, does that sound right? Last edited by ajsalida; 07-06-2013 at 09:38 AM.. |

BTW that is a great resource, going to bookmark it.
It turns out if anyone does not know those reverse torx head motor mount bolts have been discountinued by BMW. Esp on the right side they get exposed to heat from the turbos and become brittle. Which I found out when one sheared off this AM. Man what a pain, had the pull the remaining section of thread out the top. You need 10.9 heat treated M8 x 45, 1.25 thread. |
