N54 JB4 Engine Malfunction - Codes
I'll try to make this as quick an explanation as possible because I'm really hoping for help in figuring out what I've been experiencing.
2008 335xi with 55k miles, FBO, JB4 map 1 & 2, always 93 gas. I'm normally not driving hard but from time to time when I do get a chance to I'll put it into sports drive and go & what I've noticed is that once I reach higher rpm I'll get a "engine malfunction reduced power" light shortly after & have to ride it out while I'm on highway. Once I turn off the car, let it rest for 15mins or so, start it back up, no longer get the engine malfunction. I decided to look at codes today & got these: 2A7C No description found 3100 Low Boost Mode Enabled - CEL Displayed Two codes related to catless downpipes (I knew I'd get these since my DPfix is removed) Can someone make sense of them & point me in the right direction? I'm particularly curious about the low boost mode enabled, did I accidentally turn on a feature in JB4 that I can simply turn off or is this a boost leak reference. I've tried to do some research on the codes but I'm not sure what it all means. I usually go to a knowledgable service advisor who is aware of my mods so I'd like to present to him what I find out here to resolve my issue as soon as possible. I appreciate any assistance from forum members. |
