Misfiring Cylinder 3 after Cobb Install
Hello,
I just installed my Cobb and the "Check Engine Soon" light came on and the car didn't feel right at all. It says the car is misfiring cylinder 3 and misfire with low fuel level. Should I just changed the plugs for all 6 cylinders? If so, what do you recommend? Code P29CF Code P29D9 |

I knew I was gonna have to do it eventually haha! I said before I got this watch me need plugs..... how much do all 6 plugs run for a good brand?
I also had misfire cylinder 6 and the low pressure in cylinder 6 when I was driving around, after I shut off and restarted I got the code for misfire cylinder 3. I'm gonna get my plugs replaced tomorrow, I'm excited to see this Cobb work! |

The tune always brings to the surface the weakest parts in your system. Expect to change stuff along the way.
It doesn;t hurt to change all the plugs. It could also be your coils (and other stuff )

How much does it cost for coils? Is it worth it to do all the plugs at once and then see if coils need to be done or just do all 12 items at once? Does $65-70 for the 6 plugs sound right and about $40-50 a coil sound right? Update: I don't believe the plugs have ever been changed in the car, if they have I wouldn't know... Car has 30K miles... I'm gonna go with changing all the plugs (worth it for $70-100)... If that doesn't work should I begin replacing coils/injectors? Last edited by JDrago1926; 07-02-2013 at 06:37 PM.. |

I just did my spark plugs last weekend after installing the JB4 G5 tune, here's the best deal I found after doing a quick search on the boards.

Thanks! Ordered Bosch plugs and I ordered a set of Centric C-Tek rotors (cheap ones) only until my fronts wear out. When I get some more money I will get Centric Premiums

My front rotors are brand new just my back rotors are shit, I'll replace all 4 with premiums once these go.... Placed an order today for the following: 6 Bosch OEM Spark Plugs 2 Bosch Coils 2 Centric Rotors $225 shipped and last but not least the BMS spark tool for $25.. Total of $275 for 2 rotors, 6 plugs, 2 coils and a spark tool. Needless to say, my cars gonna be running a shit ton better and at least my back brakes will match my fronts rather then being shitty surfaced rotors |

Hey man, did changing the plugs solve the 2 codes you were getting? I got the exact same codes just now, I changed my plugs about 16k miles ago... What fixed yours?

You may have an issue with a coil or a plug. Easiest is to try swapping coil location and move it from one bank to the other and see if the misfire follows.
