VRSF 7" Intercooler DIY Done: Need Advice on Trimming Results (PICS)

Hey guys,

Did my VRSF 7" intercooler install today. It went well aside from a stripped screw threading issue

Anyways, based on what I've read here the goal was to trim as little of the front support away as possible. I did this successfully but the results look odd as the stock support is now going straight across the middle of the intercooler.

What have you guys done? Just cut off the black plastic support altogether?

Also, this intercooler sits a lot lower than the factory unit, but the mounting points are touching the stock mounting locations so i guess its just that this unit is a lot taller than the stock one?

Help appreciated

Just cut that center piece off. It's not serving a purpose anymore.

Remove that junk covering that sexy intercooler.

Make sure it's flush against radiator

With the pre-LCI E90 bumper you don't even see it. You don't need to cut it out. I have a Helix FMIC, didn't cut a thing out, and I don't see it.

agreed man, I have the same one & I just took everything off. that plastic part only serves a purpose for supporting the stock intercooler. you don't need that anymore & looks way better without!
