Rear pre turbo inlet pipe removal

Has anyone successfully removed the rear pre turbo inlet? Its the only piece i haven't removed. Looking at some people's turbo upgrades they just left it in. I even lowered the motor fit extra clearance. I'll probably end up cutting it out but just wanted to see if anyone has had any luck or know of a trick.

Yes you can get it out with out cutting it. You have to pull the intake a manifold and I forget which it was either jack the motor way up or lower it down. I already had the sub frame out so raising or lowering the motor a lot was not a problem. It's still a bitch to get out that way, but it will come out.

I removed the rear tube when I had the transmission out for the clutch swap. I had to cut the front one to remove it. I would hate to have to install either.

It's not easy and it takes up some time. I usually lower the engine by several inches, of course the cowling and strut braces need to be removed. The airfilter-side comes up first, then the turbo side comes out last. I usually use a pry bar to push the engine forward and to the drivers side to get the last little bit of clearance between the valvecover and DME shield. HTH and GL!
