Why is my Tial Q super quiet

I just installed the tial Q bov w/ 11ps spring on my car and it is extremely quiet and can barley be heard while revving or when building minimal boost <10lbs. at full boost it makes like a 2 stage sound. almost like 2 different pitched wooshing noises. It sounds nothing like these videos.

Have you tried a lighter spring? Based on how it sounds above and what you described I think yours is too tight. Also check the vacuum hose.

I'm running the recommended spring from Tial and the vendors.

I agree that it is quieter than other options, but it is not as loud as many of the videos I have heard of it on the 335i. I'm wondering if forcing the tiny 1/8 vacuum line on to the 1/4 Tial nipple is disrupting the vacuum

I would try to keep it all the same and see if the results change. Edit- Sorry for the confusion i thought you purposely reduce to 1/8. I didn't realize the inlet off the intake was 1/8.

I'm familiar with both of those videos above and I had the Tial BOV on this car myself with 18-19 PSI. They aren't as loud as the videos portray them to be.

I'm going to get a 1/4 to 1/8 vacuum reducer like what comes in the stett cp kit.

I'm running the recommended spring as far as I know. I have no boost leaks as I'm hitting 16psi with no underboost codes. And after I change the vacuum line I don't see what could be wrong with the install of it. So if the changing of the vac line dosnt do anything I'm going to assume it just really is this quiet.

That's what mine sounds like. Honestly, I prefer it. It's working better than the diverter valves without being overly rice.

Procede Rev3 V5
ETS Intake
VRSF 7 Inch Intercooler with lower charge pipe
VRSF upper charge pipe with Tial Q bov
93 pump gas

It's not that loud of a BOV in general. Here's two videos of mine. In the snow one you can hear how loud it is from outside a bunch

Also take note, the first video is shot in a garage with the hood up! Kind of makes a little difference when it comes to sound and volume!

Mine is only loud when boost surpasses 5-6 PSI, otherwise just a small whoosh.

Kinda crazy as almost any other platform, Tial's are loud as shit.

Oh well.

mines is quiet aswell, don't really want it to loud.

If you want a louder BOV get a HKS or Synapse BOV.

If you get any sort of surge / flutter / 2 stage sound your spring is too tight. I found the spring Tial recommends is much too tight for our application for proper venting, I would go down one to two steps in spring and you will notice a vast improvement. Also make sure you are not sharing that vacuum line with anything.

Where do you suggest tapping a boost gauge, if you are to leave the tial vac line untapped? Just curious so I can install the P3 and not have to play around when I install my Tial and CP
